Grouse Grind is located in North Vancouver BC and instead of taking the gondola up to Grouse Mountain you take "Mother Natures Stairmaster" up. This is considered a hard hike and believe me when I say it is truly a hard hike. It has 2,830 steps with an elevation gain of 2,800 feet straight up. Th trail is 2.9 km and takes an average of 1.5 hours to complete. Over 150,000 people do the grind every year and age ranges from 7 to 90 years of age. I challenged this hike on my 57th birthday along with my daughter Angela and my 8 year old grandson Brody. They rocked the mountain and finished climbing it in 1 hour and 5 minutes. I went slow and steady and got through in 1 hour and 28 minutes. Which allowed me to achieve the goal of getting it done in 1.5 hours. You must be ready to do this hike. It has four quarters to get through and each time a quarter comes up you think oh my am I not there yet. It is grueling but keep going because the view at the top is absolutely stunning. The beer was good too! For more information on this hike follow this link https://www.grousemountain.com/grousegrind
