Some places leave an impression long after you've gone—not because of grand monuments or famous landmarks, but because they tell their story in unexpected ways. Hope, British Columbia, is one of those places. Nestled among majestic mountains where the Fraser and Coquihalla Rivers meet, Hope is a town that lives up to its name.

Hidden in the heart of Hope is one of the town's most meaningful treasures. At first glance, it is simply a beautiful Japanese garden—a tranquil place filled with trees, water, and quiet beauty. But if you take a moment to read the plaques and learn its story, you'll discover it is so much more than a garden. It is a symbol of friendship, resilience, remembrance, and reconciliation.
