Butter Rum Tarts

Makes 80 tarts


6 tbsp softened butter

4 ½ cup brown sugar

6 eggs

6 tbsp dark rum

6 tsp vanilla

¾ tsp salt

1 ½ cup pecans

1 ½ cup walnuts

80 frozen tarts

Pecan halves for top

Optional you can add ½ cup of the following:

Chocolate chips

Skor bits

Butterscotch chips

M&M bits


  1. Pre-heat oven to 350˚F

  2. Cream butter and sugar

  3. Blend in eggs, rum, vanilla and salt and mix well

  4. Stir in nuts

  5. Fill shells ¾ full and top with pecan half

  6. Bake until golden brown

If you add optional items I top the tart with a chocolate wafer to distinguish plain or enhanced version. It is good to make different types.
