Festive Shortbread

Makes 40 cookies


1 cup butter at room temperature

6 tbsp icing sugar

½ tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla

2 ½ cup flour

1 tbsp red, green, white sprinkle balls


  1. Pre-heat oven 325˚F

  2. In stand mixer cream butter and icing sugar

  3. Add salt and vanilla and keep mixing

  4. Slowly add flour until combined

  5. Take off stand and knead dough together

  6. Add sprinkle balls and continue to knead dough

  7. On wax paper roll dough out to ½ inch thick

  8. Place on cookie sheet and freeze for 15 minutes

  9. Cut dough into ½ inch cookie squares

  10. Bake cookies until light gold 15 – 18 minutes

  11. Place hot cookies on a cool baking sheet to cool so cookies don’t keep cooking

Put some of these cookies on ice cream for a festive treat
