Finger-Licking Gourmet Grilled Cheese

Grilled cheese is always a quick meal at my house but this one will leave you licking your fingers and asking for more. Served with a green salad it is a perfect quick meal.


6 slices sourdough bread

Softened butter

Dijon mustard

250 g Italian mozzarella ball that you shred

2 green onions finely chopped

3 slices ham chopped into 1 inch chunks


  1. Lather both outside slices of bread with butter and put buttered sides together so they don’t make mess of the counter

  2. Spread Dijon mustard on one inside slice of bread

  3. Shred mozzarella and in a bowl add green onions and ham, mix well

  4. Scoop 1/3 of the mixture on mustard coated slice

  5. Heat skillet and add buttered cheese slice to the pan and top with the second piece of bread

  6. Cover the pan with a lid so the cheese melts inside out

  7. Flip about three minutes in and cook for another three minutes

  8. Serve hot with a green salad
