Sesto Calende is where lake meets river. The town and municipality is located in the province of Varese in the Lombardy region of Northern Italy. It is situated on the most southern tip of Lago Maggiore, where the Ticino River starts to flow into the Po River.
We came to Sesto Calende on Mother's Day Brunch with our daughter Crystal and her Fiancé Chris and we walked the promenade, which like most on Lago Maggiore are incredibly well kept. Here there is lots of greenery and bird life. Many walk to enjoy the views, to visit with family and friends, or to walk their dogs, which is a pet that Italians absolutely love. Sesto Calende è dove il lago incontra il fiume. Il comune si trova in provincia di Varese nella regione Lombardia del Nord Italia. Si trova sulla punta più meridionale del Lago Maggiore, dove il fiume Ticino inizia a confluire nel fiume Po.
Siamo venuti a Sesto Calende per il brunch della festa della mamma con nostra figlia Crystal e il suo fidanzato Chris e abbiamo camminato sul lungomare, che come la maggior parte del Lago Maggiore è incredibilmente ben tenuto. Qui c'è molto verde e avifauna. Molti camminano per godersi il panorama, per visitare la famiglia e gli amici, o per portare a spasso i loro cani, che è un animale domestico che gli italiani adorano. Of course when in Italy we love to find special places to eat and Crystal and Chris found this gem that serves French Toast that my mom would go crazy for. As well they have Caesar's that Crystal hasn't been able to find in Italy.
NOLA Whiskey Diner & Cose is a husband and wife family run restaurant. They are passionate about whiskey, which when you go inside the restaurant and look at their wall full of bottles from all over the world, you will be in awe. You can choose to eat inside or on their patio. Their cuisine is American-inspired and was absolutely delicious. Below are some photo's of the restaurant:
Ovviamente quando in Italia amiamo trovare posti speciali dove mangiare e Crystal e Chris hanno trovato questo gioiello che serve French Toast di cui mia madre impazzirebbe. Inoltre hanno dei Caesar che Crystal non è riuscita a trovare in Italia.
NOLA Whisky Diner & Cose è un ristorante a conduzione familiare, marito e moglie. Sono appassionati di whisky, che quando entri nel ristorante e guardi il loro muro pieno di bottiglie provenienti da tutto il mondo, rimarrai sbalordito. Puoi scegliere di mangiare all'interno o nel loro patio. La loro cucina è di ispirazione americana ed era assolutamente deliziosa. Ecco alcune foto del ristorante:
