Baked Spicy Meatballs

These meatballs served with my homemade ranch dip are a great combination and zing. They make a great appetizer!


1 tbsp olive oil

½ cup finely chopped red onion

1 jalapeno pepper finely chopped

400 grams ground pork

1 tbsp lemon and herbs spice

½ tsp dried spearmint

½ tbsp crushed red pepper flakes

12 cubes mozzarella cheese – ½ inch in size


  1. Heat oil, onion and jalapeno in sauté pan and cook until onion is softened

  2. Set aside and let cool

  3. Preheat oven to 400 °F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper

  4. In a large bowl add ground pork, herbs, spearmint, pepper flakes, and onion pepper mix

  5. Combine all the ingredients until well blended

  6. Flatten mixture in the palm of your hand and add a piece of mozzarella cheese

  7. Wrap the mozzarella with meat mixture and form a ball

  8. Place on baking sheet

  9. Bake for 15 minutes, turning over once

  10. Serve with my zesty ranch dressing
