Honestly where do the weeks go? A blink of an eye and we are back to Saturday and I'm putting together this blog. We were super busy this week as we had to go to the house everyday to make a decision on something. We got a lot of steps in which is great for our exercise goals.
This week the electrician pulled the wires through the conduit and installed the plugs and switches and the cement guys (not sure what they are called) finished the three coats and sanded so it was ready to start painting on Thursday. Cleaners came in for the day to make sure the bulk of the dirt and dust was gone and the flooring in the taverna area was also done. Of course there is a video and photos of all of this. What there isn't a photo of as it was the grossest thing I've ever seen is the cleaning of our drain pipe.
Our plumber couldn't get the camera to go past a point in the house therefore we had to get a cleaning company to come out and de-clog the pipes. He came with a big truck and with an electric operated device he put a hose in from the outside overflow connector pumping water into our pipes at enormous force. What came next was unbelievable....For 10 minutes he kept the water pumping in and huge almost foot long and four inches wide pieces of fat/grease/lard was coming out. He had to use a shovel to break them apart so they could flow into the city drainage system. It was the nasties thing I've ever seen.
We knew the previous owner did a lot of frying in the house because you could smell it every time you walked into the house, even more so when the house was empty. It was a disgusting odor. What this proved is she threw the grease down the sink and with the cold water in the system it just became solid over time, to the point that there was hardly any room for water to pass. Good thing, I don't fry and this shouldn't happen again. Lesson learned for everyone, if you do do a lot of frying, place the oil in a can and dispose of it at the dump. Your pipes will love you for it.
I can honestly say so far this has been a painless process and I truly believe it is because we have chosen a great contracting company with Blu SRL doing the work. They have every trade working for them and have been for many years and they all help each other out and joke around. It is wonderful to see. Their project management skills are incredible as they set up a schedule and so far even when there was a blip, the trade accommodated make it work. So blessed to have them.

Onestamente dove vanno le settimane? Un battito di ciglia e siamo tornati a sabato e sto mettendo insieme questo blog. Eravamo super impegnati questa settimana perché dovevamo andare a casa ogni giorno per prendere una decisione su qualcosa. Abbiamo ottenuto molti passaggi in cui è ottimo per i nostri obiettivi di esercizio.
Questa settimana l'elettricista ha tirato i fili attraverso il condotto e installato le spine e gli interruttori e i ragazzi del cemento hanno finito i tre strati e carteggiato in modo che fosse pronto per iniziare a dipingere giovedì. Le donne delle pulizie sono venute a pulire per la giornata per assicurarsi che lo sporco e la polvere fossero spariti e che la casa fosse pronta per essere dipinta. Sono stati eseguiti anche i pavimenti ei battiscopa della taverna. Naturalmente c'è un video e foto di tutto questo. Quello di cui non c'è una foto come è stata la cosa più grossolana che abbia mai visto è la pulizia del nostro tubo di scarico.
Il nostro idraulico non riusciva a far passare la fotocamera oltre un punto della casa, quindi abbiamo dovuto far venire un'impresa di pulizie e sbloccare i tubi. È venuto con un grosso camion e con un dispositivo elettrico ha inserito un tubo dal connettore esterno pompando acqua nei nostri tubi con una forza enorme. Quello che è venuto dopo è stato incredibile.... Per 10 minuti ha tenuto l'acqua pompando dentro e enormi pezzi di grasso lunghi quasi 30 cm e larghi 10 cm stavano uscendo. Doveva usare una pala per separarli in modo che potessero fluire nel sistema di drenaggio della città . Era la cosa brutta che abbia mai visto.
Sapevamo che il precedente proprietario faceva un sacco di fritture in casa perché si poteva sentire l'odore ogni volta che si entrava in casa, ancora di più quando la casa era vuota. Era un odore disgustoso. Ciò che questo ha dimostrato è che ha gettato il grasso nel lavandino e con l'acqua fredda nel sistema è diventato solido nel tempo, al punto che non c'era quasi spazio per far passare l'acqua. Per fortuna, non friggo e questo non dovrebbe accadere di nuovo. Lezione appresa per tutti, se fai un sacco di frittura, metti l'olio in una lattina e smaltiscilo nella discarica. Le tue pipe ti ameranno per questo.
Posso dire onestamente che finora questo è stato un processo indolore e credo davvero che sia perché abbiamo scelto una grande azienda appaltatrice con Blu SRL che fa il lavoro. Hanno tutti i mestieri che lavorano per loro e hanno lavorato insieme per molti anni. È meraviglioso vederli aiutarsi a vicenda e raccontarsi barzellette. Le loro capacità di gestione dei progetti sono incredibili! Hanno stabilito un programma e finora anche quando c'è stato un blip, il commercio si è adattato a farlo funzionare. Così fortunato ad averli.
