Having puff pastry in the fridge is great for making a quick snack any time of day.  Easy to prepare, I made these as an appetizer for my Appetizer Buffet when friends came for a visit.

Time saver: I made these in the morning and placed them in the fridge until guests arrived and made them fresh.  It works out well because the colder the puff pastry is when you place it in the oven the better.

Ingredients

1 rectangular puff pastry

Philadelphia cream cheese to taste

8 slices of roasted chicken deli meat

6 slices of any meltable cheese you like

14 green olives

1 egg yolk, well beaten

Directions

  1. Unroll puff pastry on its own parchment paper and spread as much cream cheese as you like on it

  2. Add chicken slices on ¾ of the puff pastry

  3. Place cheese slices on top of chicken leaving a space between the cheese

  4. Lay olives in the space between the cheeses

  5. Using the parchment paper, roll dough up tightly into a nice log

  6. Cover with plastic wrap and place in fridge until ready to use

  7. Preheat oven to 200°C and line baking sheet with parchment paper

  8. Using a knife cut into 15 slices and lay them on the baking sheet.  Brush with beaten egg yolk

  9. Bake for 18 - 20 minutes until puffy and golden brown

  10. Serve hot or let cool

Involtini di Pollo e Formaggio

Fa: 15 Involtini

Ingredienti

1 pasta sfoglio rettangolare

Formaggio cremoso Philadelphia a gusto

14 olive verdi

1 tuorlo d’uovo, ben battuto

Indicazioni

  10. Servi caldo o lascia raffreddare
