In my life, I’ve known a few people who have struggled with and passed away from mesothelioma. At the time, I wasn’t very informed about the disease, but after Gianni was diagnosed with the rare PML leukemia, I became more interested in learning about mesothelioma as well. It is also a rare condition, with approximately 3,000 cases each year in the United States, 400 in Canada, and about 2,000 in Italy.

UNESCO designated 13 February as World Radio Day in 2011, and the United Nations General Assembly formally endorsed the observance in 2012.
